Michael is an Associate at Primerio in the firm’s commercial litigation department. He has experience in dispute resolution, commercial and general litigation, and insolvency law.
He also forms part of the team advising on white collar crime, merger filings across various African jurisdictions and has experience in conducting internal legal and compliance investigations.
Significant Matters:
Michael formed part of the team that:
- represented a major international security company in enforcement proceedings relating to an ICC arbitration award, including contested proceedings concerning the ownership and attachment of funds held by the central bank of a foreign state in South African bank accounts in an amount of approximately EUR 10 million;
- provided regulatory advice across various sectors, including in relation to anti-bribery and corruption legislation;
- advised a global company on internal legal and compliance investigations;
- advised on the enforcement of restraint of trade agreements;
- represented a major South African property developer in liquidation proceedings; and
- successfully obtained a mandamus order against the Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources.
